Do you think a 98-foot dock and a boat lift belong here?

Based on newspaper and other reports, its saddens us to say that the DEP seems to have acquitted itself less than honorably at the recent hearing in Chester. Indeed, they seem to believe that a 98-foot dock would be just peachy in this location, no matter what the public in general might think. The Chester Harbor commission agrees with them. For a very thorough report on the proceedings, see the CRCPT site. Jay McKay of the CRCPT has filed an outstanding brief with the DEP's Commissioner, Arthur Rocque. This brief does a thorough job of explaining to Mr Roque why his hearing officer's approval of the Schaller dock application was a disgraceful abrogation of her duty to the citizens of Connecticut. Here's another view of the proposed 98-foot dock location. Nice view, isn't it. Are you angry yet?
