Questions and answers regarding river preservation
Q: You're just jealous of rich people, aren't you?
A: Hardly.
We believe that one of the things that makes America the best place in the world to live is the fact that anyone can go out and make a pile of money, and use it to enjoy life as they wish.
However, another thing that's great about this country is (as the old saying goes) that anyone can swing his fist as much as he wants to, but his right to do so ends where somebody else's nose begins.
Some individual desires must be subordinate to the common good; that is just one the facts of life when you're part of a community.
And what's more important in the end: an individual's desire to have a damn dock (no matter how long, or whether it's appropriate for the location, or if it will get in other people's way) - or to have a huge house situated so everyone can gaze upon it with envy for their unobstructed view of the river - or the preservation of "one of the last great places in America?"
You decide. It's your river.
